What sets us apart from all of the other concrete contractors?

  • IHSA - Our staff are continually provided professional safety training for the many legislations and regulations required under the Occupational Health and Safety Act OH&SA. https://www.ihsa.ca

  • WSIB - Our entire group is covered by WSIB for which we are in good standing. Do you need a clearence certificate? See http://www.wsib.on.ca

  • Insurance - Our company, workers and clients are covered by our policy. Have you ever asked a contractor if they're insured? Sure they will say yes (they may have insurance on the trucks) but can they back it up with a policy against the work on your property?

  • Ontario 1 Call - Is your contractor a member of Ontario 1 Call? Did you know it's against the law to dig on private or public property before you call for utility locates? Who's responsible if a contractor damages a utility on your property? Who covers the costs of a broken gas line and the emergency services that will respond to an emergency call for a broken gas line.

  • MOL - Did you know that a project with a value over $50 000.00 must be registered with the Ministry of Labour? Any project over $50000.00 requires a Notice of Project to be registered by the contractor.

  • CRA - Is your contractor registered with Canada Revenue Agency and the GST/HST office? Is your contractor even a registered contractor?

Did you know that there's presently a company operating in the area that has changed their company name and profile at least 4 times in the last 5 years? How does that work for guarantees?

There are too many examples of homeowners becoming financially responsible if many of the provincial and federal laws are not known or explained to you by the potential contractor. You are responsible for ensuring a contractor is covered by these regulations. Price alone should not be the only factor when deciding on which contractor you are contemplating hiring. As the homeowner and client, you have the ability to ask as many questions as you want to ensure you are confident in your final decisions.
